About Waverly Hall, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Waverly Hall, Georgia is a town located in Harris County. It is part of the Columbus, GA Metro Area, and as of 2015, about 850 people resided here. Georgia State Route 85 and Alternate U.S. Route 27 run through the city, leading 10 miles north to Shiloh and 25 miles southwest to Columbus. The highways also meet Georgia State Route 208, which allows residents a convenient, 83-mile trek northeast to Atlanta.
While there aren’t any major tourist attractions in Waverly Hall, there are some noteworthy destinations here. Many of them involve recreation, as Waverly Hall is well known for the Village Green walking trail located in the town center. Build on a railway bed that previously ran through town, various restaurants and local businesses are located alongside the Village Green area. The Bobby Lowman Recreation Center was constructed in 1939 and features a gymnasium for basketball and other sporting events, and a children’s playground was recently built near the walking track and named in honor of former Police Chief Wallace E. Marriner.
The climate of Waverly Hall is typical of a humid subtropical zone. Daytime summer temperatures reach average highs in the low-90s, and high humidity levels can make this heat feel oppressive. To stay cool, residents have moved away from the use of window air conditioning units in favor of central A/C systems. New constructions may be equipped with an energy efficient heat pump, which allows one system to offer both home heating and cooling controls throughout the year.
Winter weather in Waverly Hall is mild to cool, and the area usually does not receive snow. While the average daily high temperature in January may reach about 57 degrees, nighttime lows often fall into the mid-30s. For this reason, residents need to be prepared at home with the right heating system. Freezing conditions are possible, and without a furnace or heat pump in working order, expensive plumbing systems may be damaged.
