About Fort Mitchell, AL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Fort Mitchell, Alabama is an unincorporated community found in Russell County. Approximately 5,700 people called the community home as of 2017. The Fort Mitchell area was originally a garrisoned fort set to provide a defense to the region during the Creek War in 1813. Today, it is a primarily residential area, with residents commuting to nearby Columbus or Fort Benning, Georgia for work.  Fort Mitchell is situated a mere eight miles south of Phenix City, Alabama and is conveniently located along U.S. Highway 431 South.

There are a few noteworthy things to see and do in Fort Mitchell. Most of them are historic in nature, including the Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, which officially opened in 1987. The Chattahoochee Indian Heritage Center and the Fort Mitchell National Historic Site are also both located here. Additionally, several restaurants call the community home, such as Fuzion, Susie’s Ft. Mitchell Grill, and the BBQ House.

The weather in Ft Mitchell is one of many reasons that residents enjoy living here. This is especially true during the winter months. As other residents in the U.S. deal with frigid air temperatures and snowstorms, thermostat readings in Ft. Mitchell average in the mid-50s. Snow isn’t common, although cold fronts with freezing temperatures are possible. The right gas or electric furnace will help locals to stay comfortable, and an experienced HVAC technician will ensure that these units stay in proper working order.

Dramatically different weather conditions will pick up in the spring, leading to a hot and humid summer. This season is long and characterized by muggy air and thermostat readings well into the 90s. Residents may use a central air conditioning system or the cooling function on their heat pump to make it through the season comfortably. Plus, the right home cooling unit will improve indoor air quality, reducing dust and allergens from indoor circulating air.
