About Ellerslie, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Ellerslie is a small community located in Harris County, Georgia. While a post office has existed here since 1828, the community is unincorporated. Ellerslie makes up part of the Columbus, GA Metro Area, and about 2,600 people resided here as of 2017.  Situated only about 18 miles from Columbus, Ellerslie is conveniently located along major highways, and Atlanta is only 93 miles to the northeast.

The quaint community of Ellerslie doesn’t attract many tourists, but there are many noteworthy destinations located here.  The Farmhouse Restaurant & Gifts offers meals cooked with southern tradition, and other popular restaurants include Pop’s Place, Tommy’s Smokehouse Barbeque, and Luke’s Pub and Family Steakhouse. Small shops like Sunday Best Quiltworks, The Leather Barrel, Bedrooms and Things, and Consolidated Brands Awards call the townhome. Golfers may also like to take a short drive to Midland to check out Mcnix Golf.

Weather conditions in Ellerslie can be harsh at times, especially during the summer months. The summer season is long, hot, and humid. When high dew points couple with temperatures well into the 90s, the air can feel oppressive. Residents need a cool place to retreat, and most homes are equipped with central air conditioners to keep indoor temperatures consistent. Others may invest in heat pump systems, which are good options for mild climates and offer cooling functions during the summer.

During the winter, heat pumps run in reverse to keep indoor conditions comfortable, and the systems tend to be better for the environment than those that burn fossil fuels. These are important characteristics since temperatures can be cold here at times. Average daily highs reach the mid-50s during January, but overnight lows often plummet into the 30s. Either the aforementioned heat pump system or a gas or electric furnace is crucial to make it through the season.
